  Academic Integrity Commitment

Edu Global: Jurnal Pendidikan Islam is strictly committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and academic honesty. Plagiarism in any form—whether verbatim copying, uncredited paraphrasing, or self-plagiarism—constitutes a fundamental violation of scientific trust and academic integrity (Amanah Ilmiah). All submitted manuscripts must present original research that has not been published previously nor is currently under consideration elsewhere.

  Unacceptable Misconduct Types

  Verbatim Plagiarism

Reproducing text word-for-word from another source without quotation marks and formal citation.

  Self-Plagiarism

Reusing substantial parts of the author's own previously published work without explicit attribution.

  Improper Paraphrase

Altering word choices or structure while retaining the original idea without proper source acknowledgement.

  Unattributed AI Text

Submitting AI-generated text presented as original human scholarship without ethical disclosure.

  Detection Methodology & Thresholds

Rigorous Turnitin® Screening

Every manuscript submitted to Edu Global undergoes automated similarity checking using Turnitin® prior to initial editorial assessment and peer review.

  • Overall Threshold: Cumulative similarity index must not exceed 20%.
  • Single Source Limit: Matches from a single source must not exceed 3%.
  • Exclusions: Properly structured references, citations in quotes, and common methodology terms.

  Evaluation Workflow
Stage 1

Initial Screening

Manuscript is scanned upon submission. If index is ≤ 20%, it moves directly to Editorial Review.

Stage 2

Author Revision (20% - 30%)

Authors are granted one (1) opportunity to re-paraphrase and fix citations within 14 days.

Stage 3

Final Check & Decision

Re-scanned post-revision. Manuscripts failing the threshold on the second try are rejected.

  Breach Policies & Post-Publication Retraction

If severe plagiarism, data falsification, or unauthorized duplicate submission is confirmed:

  • Pre-Publication: Immediate summary rejection without peer review process.
  • Post-Publication: Formal retraction notice published online, marking the article as revoked.
  • Institutional Notice: Official letter sent to the author’s home university/institution.
  • Ban: Permanent submission blacklist for all contributing authors for up to 3 years.
