Retraction Policy

Retraction Policy

"Upholding the integrity of the scholarly record through transparent, rigorous, and ethical rectification protocols."

I. Purpose and Philosophy

Edu Global: Jurnal Pendidikan Islam is committed to the highest standards of publication ethics. A retraction is a formal mechanism used to correct the published literature and alert readers to publications that contain such seriously flawed data or conclusions that their findings can no longer be trusted. Our primary goal is to ensure the reliability of academic research rather than to punish authors.

II. Grounds for Retraction

1. Unreliable Findings

Articles will be retracted if there is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, either as a result of major errors (e.g., miscalculation or experimental error) or scientific misconduct (e.g., data fabrication or image manipulation).

2. Plagiarism and Redundancy

Retraction is mandatory if the article constitutes major plagiarism, or if the research has been previously published elsewhere without proper cross-referencing, permission, or justification (redundant/duplicate publication).

3. Ethical Violations

This includes serious breaches of research ethics codes, such as failure to disclose significant conflicts of interest, lack of ethical approval for human subjects, or manipulation of the peer-review process.

III. Investigation Protocol

1
Initial Assessment

The Editorial Board objectively evaluates reports or suspicions of publication irregularities to determine if a formal investigation is warranted.

2
Author Engagement

Authors are formally contacted and given the opportunity to provide explanations, raw data, or clarifications regarding the findings in question.

3
Final Determination

Based on the investigation results and board recommendations, the Editor-in-Chief issues a final decision regarding the retraction and the public notice.

IV. Transparency and Digital Preservation

In accordance with COPE Guidelines, retracted articles are not physically removed from the journal’s online archives. The original PDF remains accessible but is permanently marked with a "RETRACTED" watermark on every page. A formal Retraction Notice will be published and linked to the original article to ensure full intellectual accountability.

Ethical Governance: Edu Global adheres to the retraction guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
